Andrea Bonderup(1998) is a Danish artist based in The Hague.

Andrea works predominantly with photography, ceramics and installation. At the centre of her practice is storytelling, whether that be the telling of personal stories, generational stories, or universal stories.

Andrea is hyper-aware and reactive by nature. As such she loves to explore the world around her by examining its structures critically but also with empathy and playfulness. Her practice is activist and revolves around womanhood and gender-based discrimination. She believes that when we meet through conversation, we create spaces in which it is possible to connect and unite. Through those connections and through that unity, we can transform and better ourselves and our surroundings.”

Andrea finds that conflicts, comments and questions often hide in the mundane, and that by first zooming in we can zoom out and form greater pictures. Her work is often anchored in everyday life captured through snapshot moments and intersected with more visually abstract and sculptural elements. This multidisciplinary approach allows her to form new perspectives and different dimensions.
