About
PIP Den Haag
PIP is the multidisciplinary cultural venue in The Hague and focuses on cutting edge music, progressive acts, innovative concepts and cultural crossovers. At PIP, high and low culture come together. A reflection of the now and a window into the future. We bring people together through creative and innovative expressions in music, words, images and movement. Into the night and beyond. We reflect on developments within culture and the spirit of the times and help shape them. Investigative, curious, open minded; PIP belongs to everyone, for all of us.
De Situatie
In 2023, PIP Den Haag, with support from the Amarte Fund and the Letterefond, launches the literary platform "De Situatie."
De Situatie aims to be a contemporary reflection of the world around us and serves as a stepping stone for a new generation of authors and their stories. It consists of an annual publication filled with literature in the broadest sense of the word, primarily in text but also incorporating visual and auditory elements. With an eye on the looming degeneration of the Dutch language, PIP aims to reemphasize the importance and richness of literature through this platform.
Zolderkamersessies
Zolderkamersessies is an initiative by PIP Den Haag to offer young and aspiring DJ's the oppurtinity to practice the craft at PIP with professional equipment and sound. Every wednesday you can sign up for a practice slot. Zolderkamersessies is an important partner for our platform, for it offers a weekly insight in emerging local talent and plays a vital role in our talent development goals.
Parish
Parish is a queer night series nourishing at the core community care and queer joy. Our goal is to showcase and nurture queer, trans, and BIPOC talent and push forward intentional nightlife practices. In the last year, we combined an all-around musical palette with performances and art seeking to create a multidisciplinary clubbing experience with acts such as harp players, bands, drags, fortune tellers, vendors, and tattooing. Further, we have been collaborating closely with Nightguides, a trans-led awareness team. We would like for our nights to be more than momentary celebrations, but a safer haven for our attendees to explore themselves and others.
Originally, Parish started as a gay-centered party in 2015 at PIP Den Haag and it grew over the years. In 2023 we have shifted teams and narratives with a focus on femme, BIPOC, and queer energies. We had collaborations with Los Angles, Is Burning and Waterkant. Pxssy Palace and Inferno London are our next stops.
Nest
Nest is a space for contemporary art in The Hague. We examine social themes through exhibitions, new works of art, programs and education.
Nest provides a platform to makers, writers, talkers and thinkers, with an international scope. As part of the vibrant and dynamic creative climate in The Hague, it fosters space for artists to experiment, to research, and to exhibit across a wide range of projects.
Nest is where ideas and people find one another and come together. Working from a communal and sociopolitical point of departure, Nest is convinced that the abundance of voices and perspectives sprouts a deeper understanding of society. This is cultivated by way of exhibitions, symposia, educational programs for all ages, and cooperations with other organizations and initiatives.
Aside from the in-house program, Nest also ventures out. Its nomadic program seeks alliances with other, divergent communities.
ZEND
ZEND is a festival for media makers in The Hague. ZEND encourages makers from The Hague to find creative ways to process and interpret the endless stream of information we see every day. Finding a tone and form for your own world of experience and story are central to this. How can you fill the space with self-created sound, image or text and increase your awareness of the impact this can have? How does your perspective reflect the reality of the outside world? ZEND creates space for all these stories and offers a showcase of local makers and platforms in The Hague.
ZEND is about your view of the world.
