Beeziflybynyt is an interdisciplinary artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. His practice brings together electronic music, sound, DJing, painting, photography, video, and digital media. His work explores the connection between sound, memory, space, and personal experience. Rather than treating music and visual art as separate practices, he uses both to build a shared world where sound can become an image and an image can carry a feeling or memory.
He began producing music in 2015 and has released work through independent labels including MNDCAPSULE Records in Chicago and Twin Capital Records in Tokyo. His releases include Alone EP, Places EP, End of Mess EP, A Quiet Place and Night Flight EP, a collaboration with Casanora, a Swiss artist.
His visual art practice includes the solo exhibition Obscure Introspection and group exhibitions including Between the Lines, Flower, Signal Between Us and Where the Sun Meets Us. His performance work has taken place across Johannesburg and South Africa, as well as in Switzerland.
In 2023, beeziflybynyt founded Raving in Johannesburg, a creative platform working across electronic music, art, events and cultural programming. The platform reflects another part of his practice: creating spaces where people can experience music, art and each other collectively.
His current work continues to investigate memory, identity, sound and the emotional relationship people have with spaces, with his latest project, such as Dear Diary, bringing together music and visual art.
