Buba the Freak explores the connections between modern day club culture and traditional folk music. In this line of thought, music has always served a ceremonial, social and emotional purpose. By blending dub, wave, cosmic, afro, latin, bass, electro, jungle and whatever styles have been produced over the course of time, Buba tells stories which unify cultures and histories around the globe. Ancient rhythms meet contemporary sound design and the boundaries between past and present are blurred. At the core of his sets, the key message is that music is a shared language.
