Lunch__Breaks w/ Kim Josefine

Lunch Breaks

For the twelfth episode of Lunch__Breaks we got blessed with a silky smooth set by Kim Josefine. She made the trip from Nijmegen - where you might’ve seen her at venues like PAAK Vinyl Bar, or at festivals like Drift - to the PIP studio to record this set. It’s a set that has everything you need. A smooth blend of sounds, like (modern) soul, funk, jazz and library.

Thanks for sharing with us Kim!

Kim about the first track: “The track I want to highlight is by the legendary French jazz funk band Cortex, titled ''Prélude à Go Round.'' Recorded over two days in 1975, this song and album still sound absurdly fresh. The combination of sensual, sultry chants and raw, on-point drums is very distinctive and transports me to another level of being. The warm sound of the Fender Rhodes and the saxophone solo that glides through this track makes it absolutely complete for me. If you're not already familiar with this masterpiece, then now is definitely the time."
