Lunch__Breaks w/ Marcos Tocae

Lunch Breaks

For this month’s show, I’ve invited Marcos Tocae. Marcos is a DJ and selector from Brazil, who has been living in Amsterdam for quite some time now. The show he recorded is an absolute delight to listen to, and has been on repeat at my home since he recorded it at PIP. Varying between balearic, synth(pop), Brazilian music, and soul, this show radiates sunshine. The first track he plays immediately sets the tone - you know you’re in for a good time.

Marcos about the first track: “The track that I want to highlight here is called “Rubi no Sabão” by one of the greatest bass player from Brasil, Rubão Sabino, recorded in 1989!

The track to me has this hypnotic atmosphere through its elements which seems that the song is making fun of you. I just love it!! Rubão played alongside many Brazilian legends and he was one of the first to bring the funky, soul way of play the instrument to the country, which you’ll definitely notice..”
