The Eye Of The Storm With Anak Rojak
All Uploads
Nina, also known as ANAK ROJAK (mixed child in Bahasa) invites you to ‘The Eye of the Storm’, a candid and transparent conversation pertaining to one’s identity, home, sense of belonging and self. She mediates talks with guests one week and the next she does her own deep dive into the themes, music, and ideas shared previously. This is done to indicate modern takes on research methods and how to stay curious, critical, and self-sufficient in our quest for understanding and knowledge. She allows herself to display vulnerability of the not knowing and what it means to discover with someone but also on your own. Sounds, chatter and or music is used as an artistic medium in conversation to bridge connection and tap into our senses. She believes there is magic in the learning and encourages us all to do a little more listening and understanding. Being of mixed heritage herself with mainly roots in Bornean Malaysia, she begins her storytelling from national identity and expands out towards more layers of self than just that.
