It’s summer! Therefore in the upcoming months we’ll be posting shows that revolve around the ultimate summer show-theme: Road Trip.
What is it that makes a road trip so magical? Nothing feels more like summer than going on road trip. If it’s with friends, lovers, or by yourself - the feeling of ultimate freedom is unbeatable. There’s something magical about the ‘road’ - spending hours together in a small space, sharing the wonders you encounter on the road, deep conversations, pit-stop coffees a gas station in the middle of nowhere... And, of course, endlessly listening to music.
What defines a road trip-themed show? Is it a show that asks to be played as a soundtrack to your conversations? Or a soundtrack that should be played when talking stops, and everyone is listening? I’ve invited different showmakers to share their interpretation of the theme. The first artist to share his interpretation is DJ Tracksuit. I went to his house, where he recorded the show. He has this amazing record collection, perfectly labeled yet somehow beautifully chaotic. He’s created the show while visualising a road trip he recently went on, from Amsterdam to Naples. Sound wise he moves from dubby depts to lush, dreamy chords and deep house heights. I’ve listened to the set a lot lately, and it keeps getting better each time you visit. Enjoy the ride!
